You've probably heard that phrase before but what does it mean? Most often we think of wealth as money, status, and possessions. Is that really wealth?
Ancient Greek physician Herophilus stated, “When health is absent, wisdom cannot reveal itself, strength cannot fight, intelligence cannot be applied, art cannot become manifest, wealth becomes useless.”
Can you make money if you're sick in bed? Can you take an exotic trip and trek through the jungle if your physical health is weak? Do you spend more time and money on doctors and medicine than you would like?
Lets break this down, you're going to need paper and a pen. Make a short bucket list, at least 5 and no more than 10 items. This bucket list is not of things you want to buy, ok maybe one amazing item. (remember that "thing" is gonna cost money) The list should be an activity you want to do, places you want to visit, people you want to see or meet, and tasks or accomplishments you want to complete. Using a scale of 1 - 10 prioritize them. If you had the money, right now, to do even one of them, could you safely go and do it? Yes, great! No, why not? Are you on a long list of prescription meds, health is generally poor, stamina is low, weight is excessive, joints are sore, you see where I'm going, then figure out what you control. You control more than you think. You control what and how much you put in your mouth. You control how active, or inactive, you are. You control how much sleep you get, unless you have small children. ;-)
You have your list, you know what you control, now set a plan. It may not be a quick fix but if you need to lose weight or build stamina, start now.
Set boundaries, create a plan, and prioritize yourself!
